Brief corporate history


GVS was founded in the dawn of harsh times in this part of the world. Problems like: collapse of SFR Yugoslavia, international sanctions and total economic isolation, hyperinflation, war conditions and transition period sometimes slowed, but never stopped continuous growth of GVS system.


1988

Investing their own capital, group of enthusiastic engineers founded a small electronics manufacturing firm in Belgrade, in SFR Yugoslavia. In the beginning GVS was small office for production of electronic devices, and the basic products were power supply devices.

1990

Continuous growth transformed manufacturing office to private company GVS Ltd. (Llc.)

1992

GVS starts R&D activities aimed at the production of telephone exchange systems (central office switches)

1994

GVS starts the development of high capacity public telephone exchange, system SRCE

1995

Company headquarters move to acquired building with 1000 sqm (app. 10 000 square feet) of office space

1996

Trial operation of public telephone exchange SRCE is successfully completed

1996

GVS enters the field of lawful interception equipment & systems

1997

Ei NIT is founded – factory specialized for communication equipment manufacturing on 8000 sqm of workspace, majority owned by GVS

1997

GVS closes its first export contract with Siemens Telecommunications Group and homologates products for the Russian market

1999

Under the war conditions, equipment produced by GVS outperformed the equipment produced by the world leading manufacturers

1999

GVS entered the field of military communication equipment

2000

GVS spins off G-Net, company specialized in construction of land telephone networks

2001

GVS R&D institute is founded

2001

GVS enters the field of crypto protection equipment

2002

GVS becomes the first private company in Yugoslavia with the approval of Yugoslav army to produce military electronic equipment

2002

GVS successfully completes a contract for transfer of technology of public telephone exchange

2003

GVS completes the offer for telecom providers by offering operation systems and billing centers
